Message from the Pastor – [Pastor Bensingh]

Revival Fellowship was constituted under the able leadership of Pastor Roderick Hoffman and Pastor Eric Dove with approximately twenty members (21 August 1988). It was not long after the church launch Roderick Hoffman was offered a place at Moody Bible College (USA) to pursue his studies.

Pastor Eric Dove continued to head the assembly for a few months before he relocated to Bloemfontein on business and ministry. He delegated leadership responsibilities to Roy Bholanath (pastoral) and myself (church administration). I was given the challenging task of pastoring the church when Pastor Roy passed on suddenly, on 14 April 1990.

The vision of the church focused strongly on the commission of the Lord Jesus Christ ‘Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit’-Matthew 28v19. Revival is our focus. The Lord opened ministry doors across South Africa and the nations of the world including Germany, United Kingdom,Holland,Canada,Russia,Switzerland and Zimbabwe.

Training and Equipping of the saints was strengthened by strong ties with Bethesda Bible College. The local church not only provided a platform for ministry but also supported some of the students by financially sowing into their calling. Many of these students are serving in churches throughout South Africa and still relate as spiritual sons and daughters of the church.

I was fortunate to have been schooled by strong soldiers of the Cross, in particular, Pastor Hoffman (late). John van Niekerk ,Takalani Mufamadi and Eric Dove.

The strength of the church lies in its consistent fasting and prayer that has brought many testimonies of divine intervention in the lives of many people across the borders of the land. Outreach includes feeding schemes and missions. The ministry has indeed developed and Apostolic oversight is given to a church in Germany (Jesus Christus Lebt Gemeinde) The local church continues to develop in its fullness with the strong support of leadership and faithful congregation.

I place on record my sincere thanks to my wife Safs, daughters Zemirah,Zeredah, and Zeruiah,my brothers (Vish, Jacy Ravin and Vijay and their families). I salute my late Mum (Laila) and late Dad (Bensingh) for their investment in my life.

Much has been achieved in these twenty years and to add further colour to the celebration we are blessed to have Pastor Elvin ordained in his Pastoral calling. (Ephesians 2v10)

I conclude with the thoughts of Dr. Martin Luther King (03/04 1968)

“We’ve got some difficult times ahead. But it doesn’t matter to me now. Because I have been to the mountaintop. And I don’t mind. Like anybody, I would like to live a long life. Longevity has its place. But I am not concerned about that now. I just want to do God’s will. And He’s allowed me to go up to the mountain. And I’ve looked over. And I’ve seen the promised l and. I may not get there with you. But I want you to know tonight, that we as a people will get to the Promised Land. And I am not fearing any man. Mine eyes seen the glory of the coming of the Lord”. Let us run this race with patience with the goal of finishing the course.
